This preconference session will provide an overview of
— The MACRA tracks and each of the measurement domains,
— How to optimize your score under the MIPS track using episodic payment participation and
— How to identify the path to APM status using episodic payment models in both public and private payers.

As a member of Sg2’s Intelligence team, Lauren Seno provides research support and policy interpretations pertaining to payment and policy matters. She works with Sg2 senior thought leaders to respond to client questions regarding the impact of state and federal legislative changes and the transition to value-based care. She also leads on-site MACRA education and strategy sessions and is closely tracking the health policy implications of the new administration. Prior to joining Sg2, Lauren was a dedicated advisor at Advisory Board, where she worked with hospital leadership to leverage performance technologies for quality and utilization management. She was responsible for analyzing member hospital claims data to identify areas of opportunity, with a specific focus on the CMS Hospital Readmission Reduction Program. Previously, Lauren was a policy analyst at the Wisconsin Primary Health Care Association and the clinical research coordinator for an orthopedic specialty hospital in Milwaukee.

Valinda Rutledge is Vice President, Public Payor Health Strategy in the Care Coordination Institute at Greenville Health System. She is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and supporting the implementation of opportunities related to government initiatives. She previously worked as a member of the leadership team (Senior Advisor and Group Director) at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Innovation (CMMI) where she helped build the Innovation Center from its startup phase and managed the design and launch of several of the Center’s models.
Before joining CMS, Ms. Rutledge served as Chief Executive Officer of CaroMont Health where she led the development of a 210-day bundled knee payment arrangement between CaroMont Health and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
Ms. Rutledge received the 2013 Becker’s Healthcare Leadership Award, which is given to the top 30 individuals in the nation who demonstrate leadership and impact to the industry on a national level.
